The Lake Lab is recruiting! We are seeking motivated, passionate researchers to be part of our growing and dynamic team at Yale Genetics.
The Lake Lab is a multi-disciplinary team that uses a range of computational and experimental techniques to answer important questions in human and mitochondrial genomics. The lab will be located in the Department of Genetics in the Yale School of Medicine which offers an outstanding training environment for junior scientists, with excellent research facilities and resources to support professional development. Individuals from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Have any questions before you submit your application? Please reach out to Nicole (nicole.lake@yale.edu).
Postdoctoral Associates
Candidates for postdoctoral positions should have or be close to obtaining a PhD in either genetics, genomics, molecular biology, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field. Prospective postdocs will be required to work both independently and as part of a team, mentor students and junior scientists, and demonstrate initiative and drive to advance human genetics research. For more information, please see this link. Interested candidates should email nicole.lake@yale.edu and include (1) a cover letter summarizing your experiences, research interests, and career goals, and why you are interested in joining the lab, and (2) your CV, including contact details of 3 references. Initially, we are focused on recruiting postdocs for computational or hybrid (dry & wet lab) projects. Postdoctoral candidates seeking their own fellowship funding are welcome to reach out with project ideas.
Postgraduate Associates
Postgraduate candidates should have a Bachelor’s and or Master’s degree in genetics, genomics, molecular biology, computational biology, bioinformatics, or a related field. They should demonstrate enthusiasm for science; prior experience with research projects is desirable but not required. Interested candidates should email nicole.lake@yale.edu and include (1) a cover letter summarizing your experiences, research interests and career goals, and why you are interested in joining the lab, and (2) your CV, including contact details of 3 references.
Students
We welcome enquiries from Yale graduate students interested in rotating in the lab! Undergraduates interested in research projects or high school students seeking summer internships are also encouraged to get in touch. To learn more about potential projects, please email nicole.lake@yale.edu and include your CV, scientific interests, and why you are interested in our lab.
